The effect of trauma on your body

Thoughts and long-term mindsets lead to physical symptoms of a disease.

The enemy knows that if he can control your thought life, he can control your body chemistry and cause disease. Long-term mindsets are caused by trauma. There is a link between our minds and bodies. When we go through a traumatic experience or a series of experiences (such as being abused, a parent dying, or getting into a car accident), our bodies trigger physiological responses as a way of adapting to the event or events. They’re determined by our genes, our coping responses, and how our brains regulate them. Lasting or latent trauma from events can trigger endocrine and immune problems. During traumatic events, your brain releases endorphins that suppress the memories of the events. This is a protection mechanism, but when you get older and the trauma is not treated, you get sick. Our body has a fight-or-flight response. This is a physical response to fight off the danger or to run. Your body releases different types of hormones to help with this process. This becomes harmful when you are in this state for too long. Stress hormones cause damage to the body. It weakens your immune system. Your immune system is designed to destroy bacteria, parasites, and fungi as soon as they enter the body. This is to prevent infection and sickness. When fear and anxiety put your body into a state of stress the hormone cortisol is released in high levels. When this happens for a long time, it destroys the cells in your immune system.

This means that your immune system is now weakened.

After time your body will get exhausted and break down. Heart disease is caused by fear and anxiety. Trauma is a door point for fear. It is important to consider where fear came in and work through the root of the fear.

After any form of trauma, we make inner vows without realizing it. for example: I will never trust men again. When you have unresolved fear at this level excessive quantities of stress hormones are being released into your body and this causes damage to your body. You are making these vows to protect yourself, but it is putting you in the bondage of the spirit of fear and stress-related diseases. Untreated past trauma has an impact on your health. Repeated trauma increases the risk of health problems. Your body stores trauma and it manifests in sickness. Even when you think of past trauma or talk about it all the time it can make you sick. Sickness steals your quality of life. You can start smoking, drinking, etc as a coping mechanism that numbs the pain temporarily, but it also has an impact on your health.
